“Healthcare with Heart” is a vibrant parking lot mural created for the Macon Volunteer Clinic, a nonprofit dedicated to providing accessible healthcare to uninsured individuals in Middle Georgia. Designed and painted by Erin Hawkins of Mama Hawk Draws, the mural transforms an everyday space into a welcoming, uplifting environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Featuring a series of bold, colorful hearts and hand-lettered typography, the mural reflects the clinic’s mission of compassionate, patient-centered care. Installed directly within the clinic’s parking area, the artwork serves as both a visual landmark and a message of reassurance—reminding all who enter that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
This project is part of Macon’s growing public art movement, where murals are used to enhance community spaces, support local nonprofits, and foster a sense of pride and connection. By integrating art into a functional space, “Healthcare with Heart” improves the overall experience of the clinic while reinforcing the importance of empathy in healthcare.
